LIPAN ART

Lipan Art or Lipan Kaam is a traditional form of decorative mural art that originated in Western India (Gujarat, Kutch,Sindh & Rajasthan) by the wandering Rabari tribe.

Patterns and motifs are created using a mixture of mud and little mirrors called ‘Aabhla’ creating a mesmerising play of reflections in light.

My love for folk and traditional art has led me to pursue this art form. I now see patterns, shapes and colours in everything around me and delight in show casing traditional designs in the modern world.
